Sherman Alexie Project

The latest BFA project is based off of the book "The Absolutely Diary of a Part-Time Indian" by Sherman Alexie. It's an easy read, and had me laughing throughout the entire book. For our final, we have to design these characters from the book and place them in story moments.

In the book, the main character Junior talked about his grandmother briefly. Due to my grandmother's current health condition, I decided to make this project a little more personal and used her as inspiration for one of my characters. It saddened me to see my grandmother lose the spunk she once had just a few months ago. So I thought it would be fun to use her as my character to keep her spunky spirit alive.

Still a work in progress, but here it is:

I'll always remember your spunky, diva spirit no matter what happens. I love you grandma.
