Since I never post any pictures on here, this will be a long picture post. Be warned!
Yesterday I attended Wondercon for the first time ever! It was such an awesome experience and so much fun!!

Here are some photos of the day:
I had the wonderful opportunity to meet one of my favorite artists, Brittney Lee!
She was really nice and took a good share of her time going over my portfolio. She gave me lots of tips to help improve my work despite how hectic it was with her many admirers! She was a sweetheart and was really willing to answer any question anyone had.
Overall Wondercon was amazing!!! Can't wait to go again next year!
My boyfriend knew how much I loved her work, he decided to give me an early anniversary gift by purchasing one of Brittney's original work. I am so lucky to have such a sweet boyfriend!
This is the lovely piece he got for me:

You can view the rest of Brittney's mermaid series that go along with this piece here. She also had other mermaid paintings here.
I also ran into Joe Weatherly!
He said he would be coming to SJSU again this Fall to start up another animal drawing workshop at the zoo. Can't wait!
Last but not least, I got to meet up with another one of my favorite artists, Bobby Chiu!
Bobby was very nice and I was lucky to have him also quickly glance over my portfolio despite all the traffic jams and lineups. He certainly knew his stuff and it didn't take him long before he was able to give me a very honest, straight forward critique on my work.
He gave me great advice as a starting artist and left me with a lot of encouraging words. He told me what professors tell me in school all the time, but it's so nice to hear it from such an inspiring artist who once started off where I was. It's all about dedication and hard work. Bobby told me never to give up, and to never compare my work to anyone else but myself. He also said I should always push myself and strive to improve each day, and to make sure that my work progresses at a certain level within each month.
Bobby also does a lot of interviews online with other artists and includes his own inputs about himself as an artist. Check it out on ChiuStream!
